Re: Liberty Lake, Washington
Is there nowhere to launch a boat at night and fish for the supposed walleye that exist in this lake? Nope, the only launch, public launch, is closed at night and they ticket you if you are inside the launch area. Like I posted before, you much launch before dark, remove your vehicle from the launc...

High Brent, In AA they would say "my name is Brent and I am an alcoholic". You need to say "my name is Brent and I am soon to be a bassaholic". [thumbsup] It can be addictive. Now, for your questions, I don't know your area at all, but I suggest that you go to the reports section and look up the cou...

Re: Coming to Seattle from UK - Fishing advice please
Our carp are suckers for snails and crayfish. I have caught many on flies cast in front of feeding carp on flats. I have caught lots on plastic crayfish patterns as well. I hate bait fishing in general so that may be part of my issue. The carp do not fight any harder than any other fish, pound for p...

Re: Coming to Seattle from UK - Fishing advice please
Not a carp guy myself, but you do need the answer to what "chum" is. The official fishing regulations are available on line for Washington State, and you should be familiar with them, but they are so large you will never know them all. ](*,) There is a link on this site. The official definition of "...

Re: New to bass fishing please help?
Perhaps the best thing you can do is get a fishing friend that is good with Bass. How you do that is up to you, but the clubs are not a bad idea. I have taught several people the ins and outs of Bass fishing, and it all seems so easy for someone that is experienced. I have tried to tell people and f...

Re: Snake river walleye (how far?)
I noticed that even in the Snake River near Clarkston that they fear Walleye. I see that the Grande Rounde has no limit on Bass (I know it has SMB during the summer) Channel Catfish and Walleye. I suppose that they may be all they way to the base of Hells Canyon now, but I have never heard of one be...

Re: Snake river walleye (how far?)
I stand corrected. I was going by information given to me by prior state officials.
Clearly I was wrong.

Re: Okangagan Brtitish Columbia
Thanks for the sites, I will check them out. I sure understand the border crossing issue with gear made or distributed in the US. On my LAST attempt to shoot at an archery shoot in BC, I was stopped at the border and they wanted to COUNT MY ARROWS. They said that I could only take a half dozen arrow...

Let me bump you to the top. The rods and reels are worth what you are asking for sure.
I would get them myself, but I am "rod and reel bloated myself".

Re: Okangagan Brtitish Columbia
I saw your post and thought I would at least comment from my side of the border. This is from my perspective only. I live in Spokane Valley, WA, and until the borders got difficult to cross I would come into Canada fairly frequently. Mostly it was for 3D archery shoots, but still, I would cross. Now...

Re: Rockport Rattler
Yes, but sometimes I play with the options. If I want a jig suspended above the bottom, and I want the noise, I will place a small tin split shot on the line a few inches above the jig, then I will place a few glass or brass beads on the line above the split shot. As you move the jig, you get simila...

Re: trout bait recipes
Option # 1) Mix 1 part Velveta cheese with 1 part Velveta cheese. Catches rainbows, cuts, brookies, etc., but never a Brown. Option # 2) Mix 1 part yellow whole kernel corn with 2 parts yellow whole kernel corn. Catches same as above, plus carp. OK, while the above are not mixes, or home made I supp...

Re: June 28-29: WASHINGTON GOVERNORS CUP WALLEYE TOURNAMENT,
Personally, I like fishing in the rain. Looking at a 6 fish limit on day one at 18+ pounds, someone else did also.

Re: Rockport Rattler
Well, kind of. The RR comes in 1/16 oz to 1/4 oz, which is kind of heavy for most panfish. The main selling point is that it has rattles, which also increases the size of the jig head. At about $5.00 for 3, they are also not cheap. Still, I had some that are pretty much the same thing from about 10 ...

Re: powerbait vs. lures or flies
Same discussions is found in the hunting forums. Why do some consider using a recurve bow superior to a compound bow, or a bow over a muzzle loading riffle, or either over a high power riffle. Personally, I hate to sit still, most of the time. So I fish more aggressively then bait allows. But, if co...

Re: Snake river walleye (how far?)
Walleye started at Banks Lake in WA, then showed up in Roosevelt. It is likely that they were in Roosevelt first. All other water in WA with Walleye is down stream of those two places now. Yes, they planted Sprague, and killed them off. Some are in Liberty Lake in Spokane County, and I expect a few ...

Re: Things I don't understand!!
I think that Mike's system is about as good as you can get. As he mentioned, there is a LOT of subjectivity involved with any system. For example, if I normally catch 30 fish per day, but today I only catch 10, is the 30 fish per day a 5, a 4, maybe a 3? If I only catch 10 today, is that a 2? I bet ...
