Re: local shop install Bow Mount Minn K. Terrova

Agreed, dont be a wuss, do it yourself! Lol, just kidding ...kind of. Good advice from fishingfool. That being said, I have no idea what your comfort level is for doing this type of work. The battery wiring, charger wiring, battery mounting, knowledge to acquire proper sized batteries and other comp...

Re: local shop install Bow Mount Minn K. Terrova

Well since you've been googling, you should know what to expect for motor cost. $1500-2000 The basic motor install is less than an hour job. $100 Quick disconnect mounting bracket installed add $100 Do you already have Batteries, batt boxes, hold downs, cables, quick disconnect connector, circuit br...

Re: Login not working

Still doesnt seem to work properly, randomly. On Edge, Chrome and Firefox. I was logged in earlier today. Came back and was logged out. Tried to log back in, but it takes me back to the home page after logging in, only to be logged out still. Deleted cookies in FF. Same thing. Came back 5 mins late...

Re: Who Wants To Test My Imported LiFePO4 Batteries....

Might want to confirm those batteries are actually Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) instead of Lithium Ion (LiCoO2) as labeled. The chemistry is different between the two and, from my research, it appears KS Energy sells both but labels them accordingly. Good read - https://batteryuniversity.com/le...

Re: New Boat/Motor thoughts.

I have moved my fish finder on this 15 ft boat a few times. Happy now. I mounted the base with only 2 of the 4 holes to the 1 inch wide side rail. I like to use 3/16 aluminum pop rivets to mount my accessories because they never rust or loosen up. Been that way for years now and is still solid. 2019...

Re: Lake Meridian kokanee disappearance

Looking at the stocking plan for 2019 (got an early copy from wdfw) and noticed theyre going to be stocking kokanee in July (only Meridian, Angle & Sawyer for region 4) this year. Previous plants for some of the better kokanee fishing seasons were stocked in May) Last few years have been in June. Wo...

Re: Who Wants To Test My Imported LiFePO4 Batteries....

More power- At high power, 50% battery life left, the voltage to the trolling motor might be less than 10v with a conventional battery, with a LiFePO4 lithium battery the voltage will likely be close to 13v (using a 12v motor). less than 1/2 the weight- in a small boat that equates to more power and...

Re: Who Wants To Test My Imported LiFePO4 Batteries....

Bulk charge should work well at that voltage, I wonder what the effect of a float charge of 13.1 (common 12v maintainer voltage) would be on those? I would guess that those batts have some charge built in charge control too? Interested in your results, good luck.

Spot lock (anchor) on my 2016 model minn kota i pilot saltwater motor is lucky to stay within 20ft. Ive heard that they have improved that within the last few years.

Re: Advice on I-pilot/Bow Mount Minn Kota?

Mine is newer and you nailed it. I got a Garmin fish finder and did not realize they would not talk to each other until I already had everything. Setting a track with zig zags is a bit of a pain with the remote but once set you can tell it to go to either end and repeat, or do a big circle over and...

Re: Advice on I-pilot/Bow Mount Minn Kota?

Wow, just looked up your boat model. Nearly identical to our 1996 lund 1600 angler. Same little side console steering also. (difficult to add enclosed top!) We have a 12v 55lb minn kota rip tide with Ipilot link (networked to the humminbird fish finder). 55 lb is not enough for us in the salt or in ...

Re: Lake Meridian kokanee disappearance

I hate to even think this thought, but where would one look for proof that the kokanee ever even made it to the lake? This is not to be misinterpreted as an accusation, the idea of wasting so much thought and research on a "cause that never was" just bugs the heck out of me. Has anyone seen a kokane...

Re: Lake Meridian kokanee disappearance

Never got a phone call returned. I did connect with a few emails, and got answers related to lack of funding for proper research. My feeling as of late is that the department of wildlife is so frustrated with insufficient funding that they just dont care anymore.... to the point of sabotage. Last ye...

That's the fun part where you make your boat "yours". [cool]

Yeah, after you get over the first hole drilled in the new boat..... They hurt less with time.

Re: Who Wants To Test My Imported LiFePO4 Batteries....

Dont have a 24v motor to offer, but Ive been dying to play with one of those 12v lead acid replacement lion batteries. Even thought about trying to make one out of 18650 battery cells. As far as your voltage reading, Lithium Iron Phosphate cells are "supposed" to be fully charged at 3.6 static volta...

Re: Mandate Barbless Hooks For Lake Sammamish

Thanks for your input fishingtenor. I'm curious about those crawfish traps of the 70's. This is the first ive heard of that. Do you have any idea of what the university's goal was? I would imagine it would take hundreds if not thousands of traps to have such an effect? A quick google search shows th...
