Re: Bassin @ potholes
I have launched from that location once before, with 3 other boats. It is compacted sand beach. We were happy to be able to launch that far into the dunes, but a 4 wheel drive is absolutely necessary to get your boat back out unless it is a light aluminum one. Mine is a 12' fiberglass and I would n...

I know its post spawn by then but how should the fishing be? Any tips on hotspots? (I looked at NWFR hotspots and not many hotspots up in this sec...

Re: Jetty fishing ocean shores
I will be fishing off Kalaloch beach for some surf perch next week. I have never done it before, but it sounds like a simple carolima rig does a good job. And if you can pick up some Berkeley sand worms in the little tub you won't have to worry about live bait as much. Good luck! X2 on the Berkeley...

Jetty fishing ocean shores
Sup guys n gals, Got fam in town and they wanna venture to the coast to dip their feet in sand. So we gonna be out at ocean shores for the next 5 days. I have fished for surf perch before but this time im in for the jetty. So the north jetty would be ideal or maybe the westport jetty if its better. ...

Re: Decent beginner's baitcaster?
i'd second that you would probably get the best bang for the buck if your market is around $100.
when i first started, i started off with a curado. got it used for $90. still rocking it til this day...

Re: Camping/Trout Fishing Lake for Family
Hey if it's all for getting the kids into fish, I'd recommend either the Easton ponds or lavender lake along I-90 in kititas county. However you can't directly camp on site of the lake/ponds but there's campgrounds less than 2-3 miles away.

Re: 115 hp merc not accelerating
based on what you have said so far, going with onmygame's response should be a good start. the symptoms you mentioned sound like its overheating and not getting cool water. if you are not getting water, then bingo. impeller swap and maybe water pump swap should do the trick. thats the small end of i...

Re: Slightly bent clamp screw
So after looking a bit more at your picture your screw looks to be a Mercury Quicksilver OEM 10-77190A3 Screw Assembly Thumb Clamp. These can be had on Ebay for cheap. I would just unscrew your small bolt from the end to release the large flange from the screw and then just unscrew your bolt the re...

Re: Slightly bent clamp screw
3 blocks in a vice. 2 blocks 'under' the screw ends. 1 block 'over' the bent spot. screw vice closed until screw is straight. Or the same thing in a hydraulic press. Man I feel sort of uncomfortable with that haha I say remove it and try to straighten it. If it is to bent to remove and your unbent ...

Re: Truck surging issue
is it weird to tip a tow truck guy? that guy deserves a tip! lol Which is a segway to a side rant... it annoys me when tips are automatically added to a bill. A tip is a thanks for outstanding service and should be earned, not automatically added regardless of the service provided. Rant over. Could...

Slightly bent clamp screw
Well long story short, one of the 9.8hp merc's clamp screw is now slightly bent thanks to siblings who said they'd take care of it over the weekend.
Before resorting to buying a whole new swivel/clamp setup, anyone have a clever idea to get the clamp screw back in straight alignment?
