Re: Live bait near area 8-2
Thanks for the info. Do they have bait all day? Or do they sell out in the morning?

Live bait near area 8-2
Is anyone aware of where to buy live bait around area 8-2? I know of a spot at the Edmonds boat launch, but I don't launch from there. I've looked online but found nothing. I'm open to catching my own too, I just don't have any experience or knowledge on how.

Re: Skagit River boat launches
I'm planning on going up to the Skagit this Friday (6/20). I have an 8.5 foot zodiac type inflatable boat that I take out on the sound. I heard there is strong undercurrent on the river. Is it safe enough from Edgewater Park up to Hart Island with that kind of boat? I don't plan to fish from the boa...

Re: What time does crabbing open?
A little late, but I found this on the WDFW site:
"Crab fishers may not set or pull shellfish gear from a vessel from one hour after official sunset to one hour before official sunrise. All shellfish gear must be removed from the water on closed days"

Re: I'm confused about the Sky fishing
Thanks for the info everyone! What is the best technique for chinook/steelhead? I've read about jigs under a bobber, dick nights, Blue Fox spinners, sand shrimp under a bobber, eggs under a bobber... The list goes on. I was thinking of trying some coho and humpy eggs from last season under the bobbe...

I'm confused about the Sky fishing
Pardon my ignorance, but I've only fished for salmon starting last year. I read in the regs that Chinook opens June 1st on the Sky from lewis street to Wallace River. All the reports I'm seeing are people catching steelhead. Is the Chinook run not very good? Or are people just targeting steelhead in...

Questionable fishing techniques
I know there are illegal ways of catching fish, but I'm curious about local, "acceptable" techniques. I fish out of Edmonds, so that is my locale. I recently made a report about using downriggers with the charter I was with. This is a comment I got from someone: "I do believe the use of downriggers ...

Re: Question about a charter
I had a great experience with the charter. The captain was really helpful and full of information and didn't mind sharing it. The boat was clean and fully loaded with all the equipment you could need. It even had a toilet!. I would go out with these guys gain any time.

Re: Question about a charter
Here's an update for this charter. I called them and got through right away. The guy was helpful and was able to book me just two weeks out for some blackmouth fishing. I'll be taking my brother with me on the 18th to see what they are all about! I'll post again after that for my review, and hopeful...

Re: Question about a charter
Thank you for all the great responses. I thought there might be someone on here that has used the charter before. I'm glad it turned out to be a good time. Them being slammed seems the best reason for not returning calls, especially since the negative reviews reported their voice mail being full. I ...

Question about a charter
I have a question about Puget Sound Sport Fishing charter. I was given a trip for two with that charter that was purchased from a Groupon. I looked up reviews online and there were some terrible reviews. Of course there always will be no matter what you look up, but there were a few that all had to ...
