Adams county lake

Went searching (for the 4th time) for one of the seep lakes. I knew where it was on the map but could not find public access to it. I'd heard it had good sized bluegill in it. Finally found it on Thursday and by the time I'd found it the bluegill had dispersed to other parts of the lake. The public ...

Re: Ulterra Trolling Motors???

I like the features on the one that will deploy and run off of the remote. The price (and me being retired) keeps me from buying it.

Re: where to fish for catfish?

camp at Lyons Ferry KOA and motor across into the bay that's the mouth of the Palouse River. It is shallow in there so don't smack your prop.

Your choice of bait: I've caught fish on hotdogs, shrimp, chicken livers, pieces of fish and night crawlers. Don't think we used any other stuff.

The Curtis raft may be the lightest raft out there. It's no longer in production but I heard Brian was giving classes on how to make one.

Lake trout are in Isabel out by Sultan if you are interested. I was up there a couple of times.

I live over here and have fished Moses Lake and the Potholes but never ventured to Evergreen. I would be interested in hearing how you do.

Re: Good early alpinelakes

Thanks for the input. I am thinking of hiking into Dorothy/Bear/Deer on Friday. I will play it by ear as far as the snow and ice goes. I read that Bear lake was stocked with Mackinaw in 1996, which has me kind of excited, as I have never caught one. Also, from what I gather, the further back you go...

Re: Good early alpinelakes

Turquoise is one you might put on your bucket list. It's over off of the Icicle River. I tried to go there one trip before GPS's existed and we took the trail to the wrong lake. Never made it to Turquoise. It's about 10 miles in from the trailhead and reputed to have fair sized fish.

Re: Good early alpinelakes

Figuring average hiking speed a round trip of 20 miles would take 4 hours (at least) to get in. Also "good early alpine lakes" is an oxymoron. The good ones aren't early lakes as most of the good ones aren't at a low enough elevation to be that good. The early lakes also aren't a long distance in as...

Re: Trolling without a downrigger

Buy a portable, clamp on downrigger. The little lake trolls should be less than $100 for everything. Or you may be able to find a used one. And yes, you can troll without a downrigger. You might get those sinkers with the rubber cores and twist them on your line or a three way swivel with a dropper ...

Re: new boat

thanks for the complement... Unfortunately it doesn't yet Phil. The way they mounted the DR bases the kicker handle has to be 90 degrees not only is it really tough to fish but quite frankly dangerous as you are almost leaning over the transom. You ever try those "ball retrievers" that allow you to...

Re: moses lake walleye

just to let you know it's not "lights out" for all the walleye fishermen. I've been out 7 times so far and the closest I've come is today I had most of my worm stripped off the hook. I am not used to being skunked, or being skunked so many times in a row. Next trip should be Friday on the Potholes f...

you two need any Moses Lake info send me a PM. I get out fairly often but am not in the same league as Lonnie. Once it switches to "post-spawn" conditions I usually catch fish.
