Re: Klamath boats (or other lightweight aluminum)
My jeep also has a 2000lb towing limit, I actually got the Hewescraft sportsman 180, 1200lb dry weight (seen it listed as 1100 also) I allowed 400 for the trailer and 400 for the two motors, fully fueled I am probably over by 300 lbs but I have had no issues pulling it. Funny thing is my jeeps exact...

I might need a bigger garage
Got my new boat home on sat, I have exactly 1" on each side going through the door and not much more on the front/back when it is in. Sure looks nice and shiny though. https://ibb.co/0ZKHTDk This is the best I could do for image, tried various ways but could not get the picture to show up in the post

Re: Spot Shrimp Newbie
Its been years since I went after spot shrimp, you wont find them with a fish finder, its the depth you are looking for, 250-275 in most areas. Also we used to use one yellow float and one large inflatable float, about 15" diameter orange/blue color. I would add a couple of house bricks to my traps,...

Re: New Boat/Motor thoughts.
Two brands I did not look at when buying my boat. You did not say what your budget is but you may want to consider the hewecraft sportsman 160. At 16.5 feet with a 60hp engine and full canvas its a very nice setup. I also would say their build quality is top rate.

Re: Brands of welded hull boats..?
I just put money down on a Hewescraft Sportsman 180. Out of all the boats I looked at it was by far the best built. Boats I looked at, Cabellas - Riverhawk and spartan, riverhawk was nice at a good price but in the cabin the bow was open and you could see all the spray foam they put in, just looked ...

They are forecasting a run of 35,000. Last years trap count was only 16,700.
Not sure what the run size was based on trap count numbers.

Duck blind fits 14-16 foot boat(SOLD)
I just purchased a 14 ft boat and it came with a duck blind setup which I have no need of, as far as I know it has everything but I really have no idea, I would like to sell it and asking $100 but I am totally flexible on this.

5 year average should see us getting around 500 a day by now, either showing up late or going to be another crappy year.
Starting to think the Japanese Nuclear reactor accident is doing more damage than they are admitting, pretty much every salmon run is getting impacted.

Snohomish river road, what a dump
Talking about the section between Everett & Snohomish, there are now at least four permanent camps, several spots where these bums just camp in their cars, one spot where the dyke blew out a few years ago has a pile of trash probably six feet high and a couple of derelict cars, one burnt out, all si...
