tbrinks, Great looking Smallmouth in your pic attached to your reply. Thanks for your response to my query. I am getting the feeling that there are a number of good places to fish on Lake Washington and Lake Union. I hope to explore both next summer. If you ever go out to either lake and would feel ...

Re: Lake Washington smallmouth bass
Shad_Eating_Grin, Thanks for the suggestions for finding Lake Washington smallmouth. I have seen some videos of people catching bass from shore and doing very well as to size. Your advice gives me a lot of shoreline to explore with lots of possible fish to catch. If you ever are out at Lake Washingt...

Lake Washington smallmouth bass
I need suggestions as to places to fish from the bank on Lake Washington for smallmouth bass when the weather gets warmer. It seems to me that fishing at the many parks would be a place to start but it would be helpful if someone could recommend parks by name. Thanks in advance.

Thanks to both DocMigs and JV90. I am still weighing the features of both devices and will eventually decide. Since both of you recommend the Deeper I will probably go with it. Thanks again

Pixie spoons for salmon
I was talking to a salmon fisherman who had been to Alaska recently and he said that the hottest lure for Alaskan salmon was a Pixie spoon. I had not heard of them before so I am asking about anyone's experience with them here in the PNW. What colors and sizes might one use and are they useful from ...

I just moved to Whidbey Island from Oklahoma and need to adjust my largemouth/smallmouth bass fishing style to fishing for salmon. I have read a lot about fishing for pink salmon and the oncoming horde approaching the island soon. I have tried to find out from locals about appropriate tackle but hav...

Re: river wading for smallmouth
I made a road trip between Yakima and Richland along the Yakima river. Nearly every place I stopped, caught smallmouth. Best lure was a 3" motor oil grub with gold metal flake on a 1/4oz jighead. Fish size was anywhere from 3/4 - 2lbs, no monsters but strong fighting fish. Also caught some on small...

Re: river wading for smallmouth
swb69, WOW! Thanks for such complete info. I tried to find the road and gravel pit you mentioned on Google but had no luck. I did find a place called Eels Park that appears to be within walking distance of the Palouse. Might that be a reasonable place to start. Rt. 26 runs east and west. To find the...

Re: river wading for smallmouth
I found Colfax and the Palouse River on Google and would like to give it a try. Can you be more specific as to where in Colfax I should get in and try. A road crossing or other landmark would be helpful. Thanks for being so generous with your information.
