Re: Top Ten Washington Salmon Fishing Rivers.
My apologies if I'm wrong but something tells me Springer is just having fun, that list would change if he were under oath. Just a hunch.
Spokane street bridge was a nice touch though!
My list will remain secret mostly because I don't have one. If it's water and I'm fishing, I like it.

Re: Drop shot set ups?
Thanks Amx, I'll check those jigs out too! Appreciate the tips! Thanks for the set up advice blackjaw and Polyangler! Nice fish Polyangler! My drop to the weight was probably too long from the sounds of it, it was in the 18-24" range. Will shorten that up next time. Good to know octopus hooks work a...

Re: Drop shot set ups?
Hi Amx, i was at American lake but would use at Sammamish as well, fishing in 50-100'. Bass reports coming out of American are what clued me into this technique, they kept complaining about catching trout and perch instead and that's what I'm trying to catch! Bites were soft but we managed to hook 8...

Drop shot set ups?
I tried drop shot fishing yesterday for the first time and had some success for perch. I'm liking this technique for cold water fishing and am planning to do more of it for perch and trout. I was using noodlely 6' sst trout rods and mono. Worked ok but thought braid and a faster action rod may be be...

Re: Missing Fisherman at Blackmans Lake
Just a thought but are whorde's family/friends aware he was a member of this site and posted reports and replies in threads here? In due time they might want to visit and read his words and reflect/remember. If it were my loved one i would want to know and eventually come here to read his posts.

Re: Wild Steelhead Handling and Release
When handling a fish for release please make sure your hands are wet. Fish slime sticks to dry hands more then wet hands, the guy in that photo appears to have dry hands, especially the tail hand. Fish slime serves a purpose and is important to fish survival, i dont remember that being addressed in ...

Re: dock fishing etiquette question
There are used 8-10' Livingstons or Sorensens for sale on Craigslist for $150-$400. A little steeper then those little rafts but well worth it in my opinion for the comfort/safety/stability gain. If someone's determined to get off the dock I'd start with one of these if your funds and vehicle allow....

Re: Wild Steelhead Handling and Release
Sorry didn't intend to derail. On the content of the article, i'm in complete agreement. jumpinjim - find that story interesting. I'm by no means a steel expert, not even close, but have heard it said and practiced by guides that they wont fish diver/bait with wilds around because of risk of deeply ...

Re: Wild Steelhead Handling and Release
Can respect that perspective jonb, I do. Sadly I take the perspective that we need to get out and experience these great fish while we still can. Obviously respect the fish and practice the handling techniques mentioned in the article, don't help make the situation worse. I have zero trust other sta...

Re: Rod and Reel
If you can hold off a few weeks the sportsman show is coming up and typically offers some good deals, Outdoor Emporium and Sportco will honor show prices in thier stores as well. I think its in 2-3 weeks. The suggestions above are good, i've also had good luck with the lami x11 for lower priced rods...

Re: How to get a Cougar?
We're having a fact based discussion here? When did that start? If you don't like or agree with my opinion that's fine, I prefer debate and disagreement but don't hide behind that lame excuse. Care to point out a fact in your post(s)? I'm not disagreeing with your facts because I can't find any but ...

Re: How to get a Cougar?
It's a Good thing emotion has never passed a bill. You're either young or not paying attention or both, bills/policies/laws get passed all the time based on emotion. Not sure where you get the impression it never happens. I find it regrettable that a mountain lion that was minding its own business ...

Re: Poachers Busted
Not sure what else a prosecutor can ask for, caught in the act with ample evidence documented by an officer. Guess the prosecutor had better things to do then seriously pursue this. What a joke if that's all the punishment they face for the intentional poaching and wasting of 20 wild salmon on close...

Re: How to get a Cougar?
Skagit, wait for it to become a problem then kill it after it wipes out the deer population, elk population, possibly a small child? You must be joking. Fishing Magician, If you get the chance, kill it. Then eat it. See if a local sporting goods store wants to stuff it for their shop. I think you'r...
