Re: Lake Washington?
I'm confused, see conflicting information on the WDFW site and when I checked the emergency rules section Lake WA, Lake Sammamish and a few rivers did not have a closure listed? I thought that emergency rule section was where it became official not releases.

Re: Got this warning from the Warden yesterday
There are some dumb rules but I don't think this is one of them. To me fishing bait is fishing to catch and kill for the most part, can only think of a few exceptions. How were you plunking bait off of the bottom and not gut hooking at least a few of those fish? Even if you just cut the leader do yo...

Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
Thanks Toni! Your posts, on whatever lake, helped me get started and become a better kokanee angler. Glad to hear you'll keep doing what you're doing.

Still good reports coming from the salt. Think they jumped the gun with all these river closing, just my arm chair quarterbacking. Don't think these runs are really in the river yet en mass.

Re: Unexpensive Boat for Saltwater Fishing recommendations
If you're willing to tow with your car look up its capacity, don't have to have a truck. Just buy a boat, motor, trailer combo that is ~50% of that capacity and leave the other 50% for people/gear in the car. A trailered boat will give you more size and type options. When I bought my 12' Livingston ...

Re: Emergency river closers
Last figure I saw was ~5k sockeye have made it into Lake Wenatchee. I was hoping to fish it this year for the first time. They need 23k for escapement and ~3k more than that to open to fishing, so 26-27k. More than enough came back, damn low/hot water keeping them from getting into the lake. Pretty ...

Re: Official river closures
This drought combined with predicted poor ocean conditions could mean it'll be quite awhile before there's good salmon/steelhead fishing again. Just a layman so hope I am wrong. Still got to believe these runs have weathered these cycles before and will come back. Bad time to be cutting back hatcher...

Re: Emergency river closers
I think I'd rather have a root canal than listen to anything the WFC has to say and the WDFW should feel the same.
The WDFW should only shut down fisheries based on their own independent findings and conclusions. The WFC is not to be trusted.

Re: would you use a boat left on the shore of a secluded lak
Why would anyone think it's ok to leave your private property laying around for long periods of time unattended on public land in the first place? Just my $.02 but if you do that you've offered it to the public. If you don't want anyone using it haul it back out. What gives anyone the right to take ...

Re: I know I am not the only one with this problem!!
I didn't fish for the first ~8-9 yrs of my wife's and I relationship. When I got back into and it became somewhat of an obsession of mine I was pretty arrogant and unilateral about it. I told her when I would fish, didn't ask, and seldom entertained her feedback or requests to do things and spend ti...

Re: need explanation of the effect of pressure systems
I've tracked pressure in my fishing journal for a few years now and have to agree with Amx, I can't find a solid correlation between air pressure and fishing success. For a little while I thought I had something figured out then more time on the water proved it was just wishful thinking. Have caught...

Depending which is closer to you, Three Rivers in Woodinville or Outdoor Emporium in Seattle will usually order one for you if they don't have one in stock.

Re: Mystery Trout
How big was it? Looks like it still has parr marks, could it not have its adult markings yet?
Also looks like it could be a char/trout hybrid but I don't know if that's even possible.

Check if Danny from River Chrome Guide Service is available.
Couple weeks ago had a great day out with Danny and this was behind several other guides boats that raced downriver on a busy weekend. Danny took his time and we had a blast, C&R some beautiful fish.

Mine's not to different from others: Dec-March: Steelhead whenever possible, trout/perch in lakes when not April-August: kokanee, kokanee and more kokanee, perch/trout when the kokanee fishing is slow August-Dec: still some kokanee but switching to salmon more and more, fall trout when rivers are ou...

Re: Lake Stevens Alum Treatments
Thanks for all the information guys, been an interesting read. Is there a viable long term solution to the phos already in the sediment, say like dredging? Or is that cost prohibitive and/or just not feasible for a variety of reasons? Working with the surrounding communities to reduce the inflow of ...

Senate bill 5551
Came across this bill somewhere else and thought it should be posted here as well. If you agree please visit the site and support this bill. Senate bill 5551 prevents Salmon Recovery project funds from being awarded to entities that have sued the state in the last 10 years over its hatchery operatio...
