Re: Shipping Lanes

you are totally right, bodo. i've worked on those same commercial ships for more than 40 years and have had many close encounters in restricted waterways/ shipping lanes. they are called SHIPPING lanes for a reason. if you're in a small craft you have to stay away from the ships. it's pretty much a ...

Re: Rufus Woods & Omak lake

thanks for that clarification, phil. i never really thought to use a baited artificial lure to catch and release. i usually use a lure and if it doesn't produce, move on to the next one. good to know. it would be nice if the regs were more black and white without the grey areas. shark- the darker co...

Re: Rufus Woods & Omak lake

like already stated, read back on the fishing reports for rufus and omak and you'll get a good idea what has and may work. on rufus, you can't go wrong starting out trolling a wedding ring. pitching roostertails and jigging can work well also. be sure to crimp the barbs on all hooks on your lures so...

Re: Trippin With Triploids Fishing Derby Bridgeport, WA

i just submitted a report as well. we also left the festivities a bit early due to just flat being hot and tired. we did hang around long enough to wait for the smallest fish catagory. i was lucky enough to walk away with a $50 check for that. the monster weighed-in at .377 lbs [woot] [blush] [thumb...

Re: Trippin With Triploids Fishing Derby Bridgeport, WA

Actually Mav,there's really quite a bit of parking there when you figure in all the different lots... somehow, i'm not picturing enough rigs for people to be up parking along the main road...but who knows?

Re: The PowerBait Way

thanks! this is good info. fish can be picky bitters for alot of reasons, and i'm sure we've all been out there and ended up throwing the whole box at them trying to hook up. i've never tried rolling PB into a 'worm' shape tho. new ammo for the arsenal [thumbup] . i'm all for changing it up when 'my...

Re: Trippin With Triploids Fishing Derby Bridgeport, WA

well my buddy and i just got registered for this event and got our lodging reservations, etc all squared away. from what Nancine at Nell's Cafe in Bridgeport said, she's been pretty busy registering people and giving out info about the derby. i was just wondering how many people from Washingtonlakes...

Re: What's the deal with Silver Lake?

many lakes have had this issue when they start to warm up it seems. McMurray for one also. later in the year i'd catch many fish with parasites on them. pretty nasty looking, but from the info i got the fish were still ok to eat if you scraped them off. myself i stopped eating them fried or grilled ...

guess it depends on how long the rod is. you might try some pvc pipe and hose clamps or even zip-ties behind the seat and carry it vertically...

Re: Cabelas Tulalip grand opening!

sooo. i've never been to a cabelas grand opening. i'm kinda in the market for a new fish/depth finder. nothing too fancy, but decent. would the grand opening be the time to maybe buy one? do they usually offer discounts or sales at openings or are they just pretty much the same price throughout the ...

Re: summer sausage

a few years ago i bought a sausage 'kit' at walmart made by smokehouse products. they're the same folks that make the big chief (etc) electric smokers. it comes with a stuffing tube and plunger, 12 or 18 'skins', and seasoning for a few different types of sausage ( summer, polish, beef). everything ...
