RE:WTB 9.9 - 15 HP Short Shaft

I bought a boat this weekend. I am still looking for a 9.9 - 15 hp motor. Has to be a short shaft. I am not looking to spend a ton on it considering I can buy a new 15hp with electric start for around 2k.
Thanks

Just put your time in on the water. While you are there watch and talk to others. You will learn very fast.

RE:Memorial Day Weekend Plans?

I will be spending Friday night fishing for cats at round lake, Saturday at Yale looking for Kokes and Sunday on the CR for Sturgeon. Monday will be my "see the wife day". Actually she might go out for Sturgeon with me. Lake Merwin just had 43,000+ Kokanee letout the net pens on the 12th. I was fis...

RE:Vancouver area lakes Crappie or Bluegill???

I fished lacamas for a couple hours Sunday. Ended up jigging a dick nite and caught a dozen crappie ranging from 5"-9". I did see one about 11", but I spooked him when I tried to get close to him.

RE:boatless

I have caught Kokes from shore with rooster tails. The hard part is getting into a school of fish. Trolling is nice because you can find the fish. Shoot me your number if you want to go with us sometime this summer. We will go up on a couple weekends.

RE:personal pontoon boats?

I just purchased a Creek Company 8' pontoon boat for $180. I figured it was worth a shot for the price. If I end up enjoying fishing out of a pontoon I will buy a nice whitewater boat this winter when they go on sale. It has a lifetime warranty. I will set it up and take it out this weekend and let ...

RE:anchors

A tip on anchoring when it is windy. Throw out your first anchor, walk rope out while moving away from anchor. Drop second anchor and then pull back on first anchor rope. Then tie off. That way your anchors are not directly below you, making you spin.

Most of the places I go will just lock you in after dusk. I try to fish the launches with spike teeth so I can leave when I choose.

RE:Vancouver area lakes Crappie or Bluegill???

For CR Walleys fish the camas slough. For crappie try lacamas by the elks lodge or round lake. Klineline side ponds have tons of smaller crappie. Battle Ground also has several smaller ones. Vancouver lake slough is where the water leaves lake and goes back into the river on the North side of the la...

Bridgeport does not take reservations, so for people like me that have to drive 400 miles to get there it is not worth the gamble.

I fished the northern end of Lacamas on April 13th and 26th. On the 13th we caught 3 15" trout and a handfull of smalled cuthrout. On the 26th we only got 1 10" rainbow and some perch.

RE:shimano citica

I'm curious as to why so many people up here like to use left-handed baitcasting reels. I personally don't like the out-of-balance feel I get from them. Probably because I learned on a standard cranking reel and developed my own tastes, but it's interesting that only 10-15% of baitcasters sold in A...
