Re: headed to sekiu

CQ continues to do pretty well on Chinooks while the number of Pinks is down. Looks like the bulk of the Pink run has moved further in. Fine with me, I don't go over there for Pinks, I can stay home and get loads of those. http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/creel/puget/" onclick="window.open(this.href);ret...

Re: headed to sekiu

Put 8 hatchery kings in the boat. Biggest was 15 pounds. Trolling in front of the caves in about 90 feet of water, 70 feet on the cable. All caught on spoons. Red racer dodger and red racer spoon acounted for most of our kings. Purple haze dodger and cop car also effective. Hooked something that bro...

Re: headed to sekiu

I just posted a CQ report. We concentrated on Nooks in water 100 to 150. Kept 8 hatchery Chinooks 8 to 17 and released 5 wild fish (so called) including two in the 20's and one that was around 30. I don't do digital pics but pic of my son in law and his stepdad with 4 on Thurs on Olsons Resort webp...

Re: headed to sekiu

Is it possible to get action out of a boat without down riggers? Im sure early in the morning, and Humpies of course. But would like to get into some coho, or maybe a king? My brothers boat has downriggers, but was thinking of taking my sled too.

headed to sekiu

Will be going to sekiu the first weekend of august. Never been before. Any tips on good holes to fish? Humpies should be pretty thick, but hoping to find some coho.

For table fare, they are much better tasting when caught out in the salt.

Re: Point No Point & Bush Point Beach Fishing

There are pinks trickling in. When they shut down the chinook fishery, it will still be open for pinks and coho. Im also curious about bush point. Ive always wanted to try it.

Wow! Thats awesome news. If you turn on Reece rd there is a bridge over the wallace and enough room to park. Farther down reece there are a few spots on the right where ive seen people park.

Re: Skagit Sockeye vs Skykomish Steel

I would say skagit sockeye. The sky is so low and the few steelhead around are extremely spooky. You definitely have a better chance of bagging a sockeye.

lewis street boat launch

Stopped by the launch yesterday to take my dog for a swim. I have to say ive never seen it in such poor shape. The couple of high water events over the winter have pushed alot of rock around. Combined with low flows, im not sure a sled will be able to launch there. Its knee deep at best for a long w...

Re: Drift boat repairs

Dont know much about fiberglass. But i would think you would definitely want to seal it up. I would think just the patch stuff would work fine. Is that on the chine primetime? Did you do it or was it already there? I remember when i put a nice golf ball sized dent in the chi e of my Wooldridge, it w...

Re: Born-again River Fisherman needs advice

One of the better things you can do is dig around in the "reports" section of this sight and look for reports on the Snohomish, Skykomish, Snoqualmie and Wallace rivers. Most reports explain where the person was fishing and what they are using. Starting in June, Summer Run Steelhead opens up on the...

Re: Born-again River Fisherman needs advice

Alot can be learned from just watching. If you're fishing the sky, just drive around along the river, find parked cars, and go check it out. Most people are more than willing to answer questions and give advice. And by watching how everyone does it, you can learn how to go with the flow as far as ca...

Re: where are you going for opening weekend?

Was kind of a mess this morning. But good fishing. Came home for a few hours and took a nap. Went to another lake for the evening bite. Had the whole lake to ourselves. Caught and released 33, yes 33 trout for the day. 4 of which where triploids probably about a pound each. Best day trout fishing in...

Re: where are you going for opening weekend?

This will be my first opener in 15 years. It always lands on my daughter's birthday. But now that she is a teenager she doesn't want dad cramping her style. So do i sit in a corner listening to cats in the cradle? Hell no! Im going fishing! Probably storm lake
