RE:What is this?
Did it put up a good fight? All mine take off and strip line like crazy! Oh well it might help if u used 8Lb test like me. IM not quite sure what pound test u were using, but for salmon it might be quite bigger.

RE:Finding those Fall/Winter Bass
Im not quiet sure about this, but I have heard that Using a trout swimbait in times like that would work pretty well for them big hawgs. No experience with one myself, but I might give them a shot. Just a suggestion.

100% hatchery Steelhead! It looks like a summer run. It would still taste good because it hadnt started spawning quite yet. Nice fish, looks around 4-6 pounds!

RE:From small to big
i would suggest just keeping at it, just keep pounding away. try moving more, try new spots. i 2nd that :king: its not a matter of what you throw, or how big the baits you throw, its when and where you throw it. just throwing them in deeper waters wont get you far. you have to target structure. I a...

RE:Salmon: Biggest and what species have you caught?
Only been fishing for Salmon once, with my fathe in-law. We drove about 3.5 hours north from Tacoma and we were fishing out in the ocean. We caught 4 salmon that the smallest was 12lbs and the biggest was 19 lbs 5 oz. IT was a great day and fun. I think the might have been steel heads but not sure....

RE:Salmon: Biggest and what species have you caught?
Interesting Thread I like it! Steelhead 8lb -- Lucia Falls with Purple #5 Blue Fox. Silver 20+lbs --- Lucia Falls with Little Cleo Spoon. Chinook 28lb -- Kalama on a Silver/bronze Brads with chartruese tape. Sockeye 10lb -- IN Kenai river in ALASKA, not Washington unfortunately. Pink --- not yet chu...

RE:Chum salmon
Has anyone considered mounting a Chum? I think that if you got a pretty good sized and fairly decorative fish it would make one of the sweetest mounts, but thats just my opinion. Great fish Sam, I hope to catch one of them bad boys in a few weeks.

RE:Worst Sportsmanship Ever
I know what your saying Derrick. I have been up to Kalama a few times myself and Have been pushed from spot to spot by unsportsman-like conduct. Literally people have gotten inches from drilling my boat, forcing me and my friends to move spots. I understand what you mean when you say they think they...

RE:steelhead fishing near lower granit
Well it just depends on the dept and the current. If the water is shallow and has strong current I say go for it and maybe even try a Blue Fox #5 and u will nail the steelhead. If the water is Deep and calm then I wouldnt recommend fishing it unless u have a spinner. and if its Deep with current, th...
