Hey "Dontknow",
Add me to the list of people interested in helping, but as stated by someone else, I think a typo made it unclear what you were seeking help with. Let us know and I'm sure someone will be able to make things a little easier.

Actually not that, but I have caught my own line after helping someone else in the boat get theirs out of a low hanging tree, and not realizing that the boat had spun a bit.

Re: Eating salmon roe
You could always bake them. Try to get a single layer on a cookie sheet, or something like that and just bake them. It doesn't take long and they change consistancy and appearance the way the meat changes. Once you've tried this, you can experiment with different seasonings.

Re: Fishfinder issue
I have a couple of suggestions, though it could easily be something else, possibly more serious: - when this happens, check to see if there is any seaweed/algae or other junk wrapped around the transducer or if you could be hovering over your anchor line - make sure that your transducer is aimed cor...

Re: Indian netting schedule? or what rivers
I won't go on about this but will respond to this one comment by Bodofish only, since it is the 1st in response to mine. As far as the incidents up north: 1. Based on your response, I wouldn't be surprised if Lummi put you in the category of 'just wanting to complain'. 2. You don't say if, when you ...

Re: Indian netting schedule? or what rivers
If you see a tribal member fishing in an area that the tribe has closed, call that tribe's enforcement agency. If it is against their laws, they will prosecute. A strong recommendation on this though, is to report it respectfully. Let them know you saw something that you suspect might be illgal and ...

What works for me when BBQing is to cut a raw potato in half and when the grill is warm, rub it down with the cut sides.

Re: crabbing
The reason for closing: The human population in the area keeps growing and the crab population, which has been very well managed for decades by WDFW, and in recent years, jointly by WDFW and the tribes, has been kept at near capacity levels. In order to maintain a recreational fishery from July 1 th...

Re: Here I go Again
Great to hear that you're back enjoying the sunshine from familiar surroundings. So no more mental setbacks, ok? It'll only slow down your recovery and your return to fishing. We've never met, but like most I'm sure, I too will be happier once you get out there wetting your line again. Keep letting ...

Hey Rac! Is there anyone who can post about how you're doing while you are unable to log in here? That way we can keep up with you and maybe even relay a message or two back. Keep a good attitude! Just make sure you do what the docs say and if something starts to feel weird, don't go all macho - let...

Quadfather: My success with crappie is like yours. I'll look up the crappie post you referred to and see if it can help me. I'm in the KItsap area, and know a lake where they are, just can't seem to get em to bite! Good luck!

Ok. I'm still having no success so I went and bought herring (at almost $1 each!) and am going to give Spencer Lake a shot. Update to follow!

Hey Rac, Not the best way to spend the middle of June. I'm sure your tan will suffer mightily :sunny: , not being out on the water as much! I'm willing to try for your share of fish :fish: if someone else is willing to take up the slack on your computer time! Ok, so none of that is your real concern...

Re: Good places to take lady friend around kitsap county?
It's not freshwater, but if you take the trail headed north to Point No point, it is not very long, and the view when you break out to the beach is impressive. From there you can walk the beach north and around the point and lighthouse. This is more of a nature walk than a hike, but you won't be as ...

Re: I Need Some Advice!
Site looks great. The only comment I have is largely a quirk of mine. In your pricing, you have the dollar sign after the amount e.g. 175$ vs.$175. Minor? Picky? Yea. But the rest is so good! Just my 2 cents worth! Good luck!

Re: WANTED: crawfish in Kitsap county
Stegalaw: I am finding the same thing. There is an extensive posting on this site about crayfish over the years, that is well worth reading, but I haven't caught one in/around Kitsap yet. I've tried Kitsap Lake, Panther Lake and Leland Lake, several times and nothing. The only recommendation I have ...
