RE:Topo Maps

Thanks,
I am looking for a topo map that will help me get around the N. Fork, Stillaguamish. I'm looking up at Oso and Fisherman's Monument areas.
I was thinking a local map store would be the best place to look.

Dropper for Steelhead

I have read that an effective Steelhead fly fishing technique is to tie a second fly, a dropper, to the bend of the hook of the first fly and trail it about 12-18" behind the first.
Is this legal? That is, using a dropper for fishing steelhead?

RE:WDFW Q & A Thread - Questions for Stacie Kelsey, WDFW

Stacie,
Can you tell us the effects of having a large population of Carp in a small lake on trout and bass populations? Do these fish prey upon trout and bass? Do they deplete the food supply?

RE:Info Blackman's Lake, Snohomish

I ran into a guy at Blackmon Lake the other day who said he had been fishing the lake for many years. The Lake is still dead slow and it should be much better now. This guy said that the reason fishing there is slow is the the Lake is over run with Carp. There are mucho planted trout in that Lake pl...

Info Blackman's Lake, Snohomish

I live close to Blackman's Lake in Snohomish and so stop by to check out the action from time to time. Went over to visit today with guys fishing from the dock at the City Park there at about 1:30PM. Nothing happening! Fishing is cool, rainy and real, real slow. Weather: light, continuous rain; temp...

Lake Dead - Ideas?

I fished Blackman's Lake in Snohomish yesterday, trolling standard, can't miss flies at all levels in water column. We were among half dozen boats on the water. There were a dozen or so folks fishing from the docks. Morning was fairly warm. Water was about 56 degrees. Light wind wrinkled the water. ...

RE:WDFW Q & A Thread - Questions for Stacie Kelsey, WDFW

I think that would be a terrific idea. I have questions all the time. It would be good to have a specific place to ask my questions and to look for others' too, all in one place.

RE:No motorized boats allowed...does this also mean electric

I have had the same question from time to time. I think answer above is right. No Motors, means no electric or gas. No "internal combustion" means elec. motor allowed. Best to look at regulations, though, before you go on the lake. There is a number you can call, too, at the State Dept. Fisheries. F...

RE:Mariners?Have won 8 out of 11!

When bats come alive we will do good. That will happen in next two weeks. Pitching is on the edge of great. Attendance numbers are going back up. We will be contenders this year for AL West. Got rid of Milton today. That was a right move, though a slight touch expensive.
