Re: Sinking Christmas Trees
I really appreciate the links. I did several searches with various terms and didn’t get any of this stuff. Looks like you (and other members) did the heavy lifting some time ago. Thanks again!

Re: Sinking Christmas Trees
Thanks, Sideburns. I'm going to call the County (Snohomish) Parks today and see if I can get a definitive answer from them. Most likely won't, but I'll try :-)

Sinking Christmas Trees
Has anybody explored any State or County restrictions concerning sinking Christmas trees in local lakes for fish habitat?

Re: Jig Color for SMB in Lake Stevens Sno County
Thanks, B8 and AMX, my dropshot rod already has braid to Fluoro rigged. I like hula grubs for Smallies so I’ll give the combo idea a try.
I’ll try some deep cranks over points also. Hope to try it next week.

Jig Color for SMB in Lake Stevens Sno County
Does anyone have a suggestion on what jig color to use for deeper water this time of year in Lake Stevens?
I’ll try all I’ve got, but a starting point would be appreciate. Thanks

I had a good day on 6/7. I beat my previous PB with two fish: a 5.5, followed by a 5.3!

Re: 2018 Trophy Bass Pictures Gallery
She's a beauty, Tmusky! It's admirable to get the big ones back in the water as quickly as possible, but with careful handling it takes just a little extra time to grab a quick weight. Otherwise you'll always wonder if you caught that PB! Don't bother asking for weight guesses on a fishing forum--th...

4.01 on a Tiny Klash followed by a 2.6 a few casts later.

Re: Wear a life jacket or don't go
Another thought: As captain, make sure a responsible person on board knows your plans for various emergencies: fire, man overboard, how to start the engine, etc. One specific situation that is common in boating: fishing from an anchored boat in river, lake or ocean. If you, as operator, fall overboa...

Re: Wear a life jacket or don't go
I just want to toss out this tidbit I experimented with a couple years ago. I always wear manual inflatable suspenders, but I'm closing in on 70 and doubt I could pull myself back over the side of the boat if I fell in while by myself. In fact, with some of our beefier members it might be tough for ...

No offense, but if you "bass fish a lot" and are "pretty great at it" you should be giving advice--not asking for it !

Does the LakeVu program have good maps for some of our smaller lakes like Goodwin in Snohomish or Clear in Skagit County or do you have to make your own?

Re: Winter Smallmouth Fishing
I posted a follow-up a few days ago but it disappeared somewhere. In short, we couldn't find anything. We spent some time looking for bait without success. We started with deep water around points, then moved to the deepest water in the lake and spent some time there. We fished steep banks and flats...

Re: Playing with Rods and Reels at the Beach
Interesting research, Tracker. I'll be following this since at one time or another I've entertained the thought of, or experimented with, the concept of surf casting/fishing. From my limited experience I'd agree that with the quality of all major brands of reels nowadays the rod length/action will h...

Re: Winter Smallmouth Fishing
Thanks, Guys, lots of good info to try. Going to grab the break in the weather tomorrow and go drag a few things through the waters of Goodwin. Arsenal as it sits now: Spinning rod with drop shot, baitcasters: Carolina rigged hula grub, football head jig, and a blade bait. Good or bad, I'll report b...
