Re: Competing With Facebook!
I loathe facebook. I use it. Everyone is on it. But I dislike it very much. Facebook has taken all the children who want to chest bump and bs, but this place is the go to for the 411. It's sad that forums are dying off over transient facebook posts, but facebook is easy, everyone is on it, and it's ...

Re: Trolling Divers?
How are the seats attached? That could be a problem. It the motor on the transom, you'd be better off with them on the sides. The other thing that you could do is to make a platform that would cross the back. That's what I did with my raft, it was a board of about 12 inches that had pads where it re...

Re: Ugliest Pink Jig...that may actually work
Oh yea, bugger jigs work great for everything! It'll obviously kill plenty of pinks, but it'll work for cohos and steelheads too.

Re: Trolling Divers?
Is this the sort of thing you're working with? I would think that you could easily mount a DR to the back bench seat, or a couple rod holds for the line counter poor man's idea.

Re: Trolling Divers?
Oops, just saw that you have a Saturn inflatable. Googling images on that one and it looks like you've got plenty of room to work with, and mounting a DR on it would be a piece of pie!

Re: Trolling Divers?
I have trolled sockeye and kokanee from my Seahawk 400 back in the day. I built a platform from PVC to mount a Scotty Strongarm on it. I also rigged a "poormans" downrigger from a 3 lbs weight and the bottom end of a meat stick with a line counter reel on it. Put it in a rod holder, the trolling rod...

Re: CARP! The official 2014 carp thread
Carp are an invasive and destructive species. They don't belong in our waters. While I am grateful for the oppurtunity to catch them, I would rather see them exterminated and a resurgence of actual native fish that have been threatened by their introduction. This is why I eat bass. When I was a kid,...

Re: Braid: Backing vs No Backing
If your reel has a larger capacity than you'd need if you fill it with braid, you put backing on it. My abu c4's will hold 500 yards of 1 pound power pro, I run backing to fill the spool and then 150 yards of braid. But if you're running spinners, just put it on the spool with a piece of masking tap...

Re: Headed To The OP
The "OP" rivers are generally considered the ones on the ocean side of the park. Starting with the Queets, Bogy, Hoh, Sol Duc... I like the Hoh and Queets from the bank. The Bogy in the upper stretches has bank access through the park, down lower where you'd find hatchery fish there is room as well....

Re: Top Ten Washington Salmon Fishing Rivers.
It's interesting how the taste in river changes whether you primarily fish from a boat or the bank. Each river holds a special place in my book, the changing scenery and species. I am fascinated my the vast differences of behavior even within the same species between watersheds. For example, steelhe...

Schu, I remember the story about the two ling at a time!! Freaking monster too! p.s. you have got to be the best dressed jetty fisherperson hands down! Nate: Next time, I'll hold the pole and YOU go down to net the monster! That was some scary chit! [scared] I'll be there to say hello and pick up s...

Neat! I'll be out on the westport jetty on the ling opener, I love fishing out there. It's more fun than fishing from a boat!

Re: What?? No Seahawks posts? Go 'Hawks!
That was the single most stressful game I've watched. It was a storybook ending. I mean, they couldn't write it up any better than that. The onside kick that worked, going for two, overtime, and those last two passes that were perfect, but could easily have been picked off at the same time. I yelled...

Re: Who returned my wallet?
On another note, there has been a lurker around the parking areas peering in windows. As I was parking the other day, dude kept looking into the trucks as we walked off. When we got out, he was like "the river's too fast". Stood there and watched him from a distance for like 10 minutes, really didn'...

Re: Putting felt on rubber soles
So much love for the rubber with studs. I wish that they worked in the water the way they work on the trail, but they just don't. Sportco sells a felt sole that you cut to size and glue on with gorilla glue. The glue they come with is not enough to get a good hold. put some screws in it for studs if...

Don't listen to anyone telling you to drift fish there. Bobber dog some eggs and you'll be catch twice as many fish. For some reason people are under the impression that you have to snag or floss these fish, when that couldn't be further from the truth. I love to fish that river, and I see it all t...
