RE:Happy B-Day to me....Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22!!!!!!!!

That 44 mag is SWEET! My girl's 38 looks real similar, it's a snub-nose for ease of concealablility (although heavy as a tank). If my son can keep is grades up, he's gonna end up with a "black gun" too. For the price of right around $230, the Mossberg tactical 22 seems like slam dunk! http://www.the...

Not only can she shoot, but the 5.56mm Stag Arms 2t is hers....and she, her sister AND her mother are all packin heat as they've got their concealed weapons permits....hell, her mother who's almost 70 is an NRA card holder for ages. She likes campin, also fishes, can bait a hook and clean the fish (...

Happy B-Day to me....Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22!!!!!!!!

Yes, my woman rocks. She got me the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 MOE (Magpul Edition). It received the Shooting Industry Acadamy of Excellence 2010 Rifle of the Year award. It's very similar to the standard AR and even has interchangeable parts (stocks, grips, triggers, the safety, etc.). It also breaks...

RE:Wilderness Cutthroat adventure

I can't watch the videos due to my no-speed dial-up internet access. However; I do have some experience when it comes to doing some first person shooting. If you search around the net, you can get nice and fairly inexpenive cameras that were originally designed as helmet cams for snowboarding/dirtbi...

RE:Fish planting question...

It's good there's been a lot of input to this thread and lots of ideas and opinions abound. Around here, up north (Snohomish, Skagit, etc counties) we do have lots of good winter fishing and I do as I'm a year rounder myself....heck, yesterday I hooked and fought eleven cutts (from ten to eighteen i...

RE:Fall turn over

I think I saw you guys out that day, I was in the red Mad River canoe at the first lake and you each had your own kayak and boat. What a gorgeous day....it also didn't help that the moon was in the wrong phase so the fish did most of their feeding during the night. It was pretty slow that day, but i...

RE:Fish planting question...

Oh trust me, I know where to get big fish and most places I fish are pretty outta the way anyhow never even seeing plants. I just don't understand why people want to take home five, skinny 10-12 inch fish that probably don't even taste good cuz they're fish tank fish. I would totally be for smaller ...

Fish planting question...

I'm wondering why it is they plant fish right before the opener? It truly seems counter-productive as most will be gone in two weeks basically. Why not plant directly after the season ends (especially in lakes that are seasonal, but even in year round lakes it would help), let the fish grow some, ma...

Cranks for sure and big spinners that'll get ya deep. Don't be afraid to work open water and go deeper than normal if structures and underwater shallow structures aren't hitting. That lake holds huge smallies so be ready for a fight!

umm, from what I read, since GE has not been implimented with animals yet, aren't all implications with their impact speculation at this point? Most of our vegie's are GE and it's even been shown that they're even better for you in most cases than organic....Penn & Teller's show did a special on tha...

RE:Thousands of ((JUMBO)) trout planted in lakes.

To me, it seems like this would be a better time for the plant anyhow. The whole, plant them right before open is a bit ridiculous as they just get taken right back out anyhow since the fish are basically stupid and will hit anything. Why not give them a chance to actually grow a little, smarten up ...

RE:Genetically modified salmon

I think it's a great idea personally. Everywhere I've fished around these parts like Lake Stevens, the triploids have been a great addition to the ecosystem and to our fishing. (they've been putting them in there for years) If they ate all the food stocks there, how come the Kokes are still such a h...

Can we see a pic of the battery/size of battery? I've talked to some people who've tried electric motors and even speed one is too fast...you must've found a nice ballance. I think if someone comes out with an electric motor/battery combo specifically for toons, THEY'D MAKE A MINT!!

I remember the first time out with my new sonar (basic dual beam 60 degree setup, no SLS), and seeing my tiny Crappie jig bounce around down @ 23 feet was pretty cool!

We're headin out wednesday; hopefully be able to tie into a monster that outweighs my canoe. If not, trout'n'bass'n will be fun. Thanks for the advice, I'll make sure to try and check back for more posts before departure. Everything will be c&r'd (unless someone at camp desires a decent size trout t...

I'm kinda wonderin if the paddle will register as low as the GPS model? I would trust GPS over a paddle wheel, but the 565 is only paddle wheel compatible.

Lake Curlew/muskie tips in general....

Gonna be out near Curlew campin for a bit and am thinkin about bringin the canoe to fish around a bit. Read that there's muskie in there and have never tied into one. It'd probably be pretty fun for a couple of dudes in a 14 foot canoe, hehehehe (I'll actually be wearing a life vest I think instead ...
