Whatcom County’s Tennant Lake is located about a mile S.E. of the town of Ferndale. It covers about 43 surface acres and lies at an elevation of only 15 feet. Water depth is listed only as shallow. Because of its fairly small size and shallow depths, the water tends to warm up a little sooner than the larger, deeper lakes. The water is quite stained and has lots of aquatic vegetation – and lots of pads. The only fish species know to me personally is the largemouth black bass but maybe that is because that is the only species I tried for. Overview and Photo BY Bob Johansen
