needs added as this is where 90% of the up river Chinook Salmon/and later sockeye/steelhead on good run years are caught right at the mouth of the Okanogan River, this lake also has trophy bass and walleye as well. The
WDFG usually opens the reservoir to King fishing around the 15th of July and there are normally upwards of 200 boats on the water as of sunrise, this is such a huge fishery the WDFG spends tons of money for creel checks and those numbers may even be available for publishing on the website, this would also give a central location for the Douglas County PUD Wells dam fish counts.
