King County’s Fivemile Lake is located about 4 miles S.W. of the town of Auburn. It covers about 38 surface acres, reaches depths of about 32 feet and lies at an elevation of 400 feet. Fish species include rainbow trout, largemouth bass, yellow perch, black crappie, bluegill and sunfish.
Prime bass habitat in this stained water lake includes lots of pads, overhanging brush and trees, and a few private docks – And the big fishing dock at the county park.
Public access is through the Fivemile Lake County Pak. The park provides paved parking spaces, modern restrooms, picnic tables and a large fishing dock. Hand carried boats must be dragged or carried about 150 yards from the parking lot to waters edge. I always launched my canoe at the southeast end of the lake. There is very limited roadside parking along Military Road but it is much closer to waters edge.
